Dorchester County, South Carolina
is known worldwide for its natural beauty, historic

located in the Eastern part of the state and is
bordered by Orangeburg, Berkeley, Colleton and
Charleston counties. Though settled earlier, the
county was created in 1897.
The population of the county continues to grow
and reflects the economic state of the county.

$103 million in the county. Manufacturing, Wholesale
and Retail Trade, Services, and Government continue
to be the major employment sectors.
Today, visitors flock to Summerville to enjoy

spring blossoms. After visiting, many choose
to make Summerville their home. By 2005 Summerville
had become South Carolina's third fastest growing
city with an estimated population of 35,000.
